Performing
Arts Program Manager Yvette Jones-Smedley talks
with actress, director and educator Dr. Tommie Tonea
Stewart about the recent national and local
recognitions she has received for her lifelong
service in Theatre. Stewart,
presently serving as Dean
of the Visual and Performing Arts Department of
Alabama State University has appeared in
several feature films, such as "A Time to
Kill" and "Mississippi Burning,"
as well as the television series, "In the
Heat of the Night." The widely
recognized actress shares childhood memories
of her formative years as a budding performing
artist as well as success stories of the many
she has impacted through her craft.
This special radio series will air
