Presenting Grants

Deadlines - June 1 and September 1

Governmental and non-profit agencies are eligible to apply for grants to cover the cost of presenting folk artists from outside of one’s county or for packaged folk arts exhibitions. Performances by local artists may qualify under project grants. A number of Alabama traditional artists are available for booking. Please contact ACTC staff for suggestions.

These grants must be matched dollar-for-dollar in cash. When costs are offset through grants from other public funding sources, such as South Arts, the total combined funding from the State Arts Council and the other grants may not exceed 50 percent of the total cost of the presentation, including marketing, space rental and other miscellaneous costs.

There is no limit on how much may be requested. However, grant awards rarely exceed $10,000. No more than four (4) applications per fiscal year will be funded. In order to be eligible, applications must be accompanied by a contract or letter of engagement from the performer, signed by both parties, which verifies the date and artistic fee.
