William B. Sellers
Montgomery

Mr. Sellers received a BA in History and Political Economics from Hillsdale College in 1985 and completed his law degree at the University of Alabama School of Law in 1988. In 1989, he received an LL.M. in taxation from New York University. Mr. Sellers is a member of the Alabama and District of Columbia Bar Associations. He is admitted to practice in the State and Federal Courts in Alabama, the United States Tax Court and the United States Supreme Court. He is a Partner in the Montgomery office of Balch & Bingham, LLP where he maintains a general business practice with an emphasis on taxation, business organizations and finance.

Mr. Sellers and his family have been involved in the arts community for years. His father Philip was Chairman of the Alabama State Council on the Arts and was Chairman of the Board of the Alabama Shakespeare Festival. In 2008, Will served as President of the Montgomery Area Business Committee for the Arts. Will and his wife Lee have served on a number of Boards related to the arts and their children are active in the theater at their high school.
   
Mr. Sellers is also a member of numerous civic organizations and professional associations. He is a past President of the Rotary Club of Montgomery and in 2008 was Chairman of the United Way Campaign in the Montgomery Area. Currently Mr. Sellers is President-elect of the Montgomery Area YMCA Metro Board. In 2012, he received the President’s Award for service to the Alabama Bar Association. In 2004, 2008 and 2012, Mr. Sellers served as a member of the Electoral College. Mr. Sellers is a partner with the powerful Birmingham firm of Balch and Bingham, chaired Ivey’s 2010 and 2014 campaigns for lieutenant governor. He has also done charity work in the Montgomery region.

Mr. Sellers serves on the Council's Long Range Planning Committee.
